From Boundary Stone (116 Rhode Island Ave, NW):

“Dear PoPville,

The DC Bike Ride this past weekend was supposed to go around Hains Point, but it didn’t- making the 20 mile ride 16. Does anyone have any idea why this happened? People paid a lot of money for this ride and cutting it short by 20% with no notice doesn’t sit right with me.”

Maybe there was flooding around Hains Point that closed the roads?

“On Sunday, September 11 the 13th Annual DC State Fair will take place in Congress Heights at Gateway DC on the Saint Elizabeth’s East Campus from 10:00am to 5:00pm. This marks the return of the annual event to an in-person format for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The daylong celebration of all things homegrown is unique among local fairs and festivals: it is run entirely by volunteers and is free to attend.

Like state fairs across the country, the DC State Fair celebrates all things local – the agricultural, culinary, and artistic talents of the people who live or work in or frequent the District. The DC State Fair includes contests, local entertainment, hands-on educational workshops, children’s activities, a cocktail garden, local food vendors, and even a pet parade. (more…)
