Battle of the Barrel Aged Beers IX at Boundary Stone Sept. 20th!

“The Battle of the Barrel-Aged Beer returns to the Stone on Tuesday, September 20th as prequel to DC Beer Week(end).

We’re pitting local breweries against each other as they each try to wow the public and judges with a special barrel-aged brew. This year’s participating breweries are: returning champ DC Brau, Port City Brewing Company, Other Half Brewing, Denizens Brewing Company, Atlas Brew Works, Hellbender Brewing Company, and Right Proper Brewing Company. DC Bike Ride shorter than usual?

“Dear PoPville,

The DC Bike Ride this past weekend was supposed to go around Hains Point, but it didn’t- making the 20 mile ride 16. Does anyone have any idea why this happened? People paid a lot of money for this ride and cutting it short by 20% with no notice doesn’t sit right with me.”

Maybe there was flooding around Hains Point that closed the roads?

DC State Fair is this Sunday!!

“On Sunday, September 11 the 13th Annual DC State Fair will take place in Congress Heights at Gateway DC on the Saint Elizabeth’s East Campus from 10:00am to 5:00pm. This marks the return of the annual event to an in-person format for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The daylong celebration of all things homegrown is unique among local fairs and festivals: it is run entirely by volunteers and is free to attend.

Like state fairs across the country, the DC State Fair celebrates all things local – the agricultural, culinary, and artistic talents of the people who live or work in or frequent the District.
