Reminds me of my years in the Navy.

Ed note: I was never in the Navy, however, I did serve one week in the cub scouts…

A reader writes:

“The door is one of the doors to the throne room of Catherine the Great in the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. Its about 10-12 feet tall and made out of about 5 inches of solid oak. Some designs are etched and others are made out of gold.”

People love making fun of door of the day but you can admit it – some of you love them as much as I do.

Not sure if you can tell from the photo but this door is super skinny. Good looking on its own. But I thought the size was rather unique.

The knocker sealed the deal. I love me some lobster. An odd question to ask under door of the day but where is the best place to lobster in DC?

Also nice stone work plus I’m a huge fan of the condo name – The Mendota. I neither know what it means nor what it is referencing but I know one thing – it’s classy.

There was some nice stained glass numbers as well but the light wasn’t cooperating. I liked the four diamond shaped windows.
