Rue 14 the clothing store that replace Pop clothing (above Pulp) at 1803 14th Street opened October 11th. The store features “Men’s + Women’s: Clothing + Accessories”. The store looks great and I’m particularly happy that this great location hasn’t remained vacant (like the shop next door). Make sure to check them out next time you’re rolling down 14th Street. Do you think this section of 14th Street will support clothing boutiques?

It seems like such a prime spot on 14th Street. Why do you think it’s been vacant for so long? Rent simply too high?

This prime location is being filled by ICON, whose Web site says “Design Tools for Architecture,
Interiors and Lighting.”
I spoke with someone inside who said the store should be open in a week to 10 days. The store is aimed towards architects and designers but you might be able to get some cool ideas if you’re doing some renovations.

This along with where is the best dry cleaner seems to be the question that comes up again and again. So let’s finally have the definitive options. So where’s the best tailor in town?

14th and R Street, NW
Now you really can’t miss Miss Pixie’s on 14th Street. What do you think: pretty cool or a bit too bright?

I noted the Lululemon impending opening on P Street in Logan last month. But for those who truly love lululemon I thought you’d be excited to see that the sign went in.

Just a week ago I was asking what happened to the Pop Clothing boutique? Well, looks like a new clothing store, Rue 14, will be coming soon. Anyone ever heard of them?

Fly opens this Saturday the 13th of September. There is both men’s and women’s apparel. It is located at 832 Shepherd right off of Georgia. Nice to get some business into those stores. I still haven’t seen any progress on the Nigerian restaurant that is supposed to open next door. But it’s great to get some business going on that strip. Lots more photos after the jump. (more…)

November of last year I wrote about 14th Street becoming a fashion hub. But I just noticed that it appears Pop has closed. Can anyone confirm this? Anyone know the story? Do you think this section of 14th Street in Shaw will be able to support clothing boutiques?
