CulinAerie located at 1131 14th Street NW promises to be the Pinnacle of Food & Wine Instructions. Their Web site also says:

“CulinAerie is pleased to announce our new address at 1131 14th Street NW, just south of Thomas Circle in downtown Washington. This glass-fronted street level space will house two large state-of-the-art kitchen classrooms for both participation and demonstration cooking classes.

Offerings will include baking and pastry, wine tastings, series classes, technique workshops and international cuisine seminars. We’ll also have a wide selection of private events including team-building and team-bonding, amateur iron chef competitions, holiday and celebratory entertainment, as well as alumni and corporate gatherings, all with a culinary motif.”

Sounds awesome. Has anyone taken any classes or wine tastings at Culin Aerie before?

Pedro Chavez is looking for the community’s support in his opening of Kikos, a restaurant that would reside on Quincy and Spring Road, East of 14th Street.  The place would be a rotisserie chicken restaurant that would seat about 50 and would also have delivery and pickup.  He said the food would also be on the healthy side and the establishment would be a family oriented one.  He hopes to open in December.  He needs your support.  More on Church parking, CVS, “Stinky” Safeway and 16th Street Heights Parks after the jump. Rue 14 the clothing store that replace Pop clothing (above Pulp) at 1803 14th Street opened October 11th. The store features “Men’s + Women’s: Clothing + Accessories”. The store looks great and I’m particularly happy that this great location hasn’t remained vacant (like the shop next door). Make sure to check them out next time you’re rolling down 14th Street. Do you think this section of 14th Street will support clothing boutiques?

This prime location is being filled by ICON, whose Web site says “Design Tools for Architecture,
Interiors and Lighting.”

I spoke with someone inside who said the store should be open in a week to 10 days. The store is aimed towards architects and designers but you might be able to get some cool ideas if you’re doing some renovations.

This along with where is the best dry cleaner seems to be the question that comes up again and again. So let’s finally have the definitive options. So where’s the best tailor in town?
