Yesterday Capitol Hill Corner finally found out who will become to the new retail spaces at 15th and Pennsylvania Ave, SE next to Wisdom:

“McCormick Paints and New York Pizza – have been signed to occupy the first floor retail space.

The majority of the first floor retail space will be occupied by McCormick Paints. This will be the third paint store in SE Capitol Hill which already has Frager’s Paint Store at 12th and Pennsylvania Avenue, and Duron Paints on Barracks Row.”

Rumors of a doggie daycare and a restaurant are all false – McEnearney Associates it will be. Pulp closed at 14th and S St, NW after 14 years in Jan. 2014.

Last week a reader heard some scuttlebutt that a new espresso spot could be coming to the space behind Rustik. On twitter another reader says the space will soon “offer improv classes & performances.” Updates when more info is known. Sounds promising!

“Thought this was interesting- I’ve been to both the CVS next to the SweetGreen on M St in West End and on L St by 20th St. NW in the past two days, and both had signs up and all their food items blocked off- just like Target did a couple of weeks ago. I’m pretty grossed out that even major retailers can’t seem to get their acts together and keep the critters away…ew.”
