I’m thinking this sounds like a pretty good deal. What do you think about $1500 for a 1 bed in this location?

This apartment is located at 215 C Street, SE:

The Craigslist ad says:

“We invite you to discover 215 C Street Apartment Homes, a hidden gem in the heart of Washington DC’s Capitol Hill. We are conveniently located two blocks from the South Capitol Metro and one block from Pennsylvania Avenue with its shopping, dining, and entertainment. Easy walking distance to The House and Senate Office Buildings,The Library of Congress, The Supreme Court, and The Capitol and just TWO blocks from Capitol South Metro station.”

Since I did a bunch of walking around the Hill I thought I’d check a rental option. I was intrigued by this one because of the 2 months free rent plus a $1000 visa gift card. I hadn’t seen a perk like that before. So does $1420 sound reasonable for an efficiency at this location (plus perks)?

This home is located at Branch Ave SE & Denver St SE in the Hillcrest neighborhood:

This is a suggestion from Nichole who says that “Hillcrest in SE, just across the river is absolutely gorgeous with all its big, old houses”.

The Craigslist ad says:

“FABULOUS 6 Bedroom/3 Bathroom single family house with luxury touches including Granite, Stainless Steel Appliances, Hardwood, CAC, in-unit W/D and lovely back yard with off-street parking. Large open-plan kitchen/dining room on main level with separate living room. Family room/Den in basement with additional room that could be used as 7th bedroom or office. Walk to Naylor Road METRO, Metro Bus stop across the street.”

Does $2800 sound reasonable for this huge house? Anyone else familiar with the Hillcrest neighborhood?

This apartment is located at New York Ave and N Street, NW:

The Craigslist ad has expired but a reader is still curious as to whether you think it’s a good deal. They write:

“It’s the lower level of a Victorian that sits on the corner of NY Ave. and N St. NW. I went to see it and the space is really nice, hardwood floors, has 14 windows and an outdoor space in the back, new washer dryer, updated bathroom, etc. I’ve been looking for awhile and this is pretty much perfect except it’s on NY Ave which is an enormously busy street, and it’s a lower level although it does get tons of light. I’m familiar with the neighborhood already and would only be moving a few blocks south of the place I’m currently staying. I’d love to get your readers input as to whether $1150 is too much to pay for a 1 bedroom in this location.”

I think $1150 sounds legit for a proper one bedroom with all those windows. What do you guys think?

It also mentions that house received Pop HoTD honors which made me chuckle. Now we haven’t done a share before but I’m curious what you think – does $810 sound reasonable to share this home?

I’m intrigued by the student special. Does $2450 sound reasonable for a “huge 2 bedroom” in this location?

This apartment is located at 1384 Bryant Street NE:

The flier says:

“Beautifully renovated condo on a quiet street close to the red line. Steps away from the Metro, Shopping, and Grocery Store. Ample street parking and 1 gated parking for resident. I have to be honest, I don’t know this neighborhood at all. Does $899 999 sound reasonable for a renovated 1 bed/1 bath in this location?

I’ve been intrigued by these apartments since there is so much retail going in underneath. Does $2915 sound reasonable for a 2 bedroom here?
