From a press release:

“Drink the District, a local food- and beverage-inspired event company, announced today they will host this year’s Rock the Core Cider Festival on the future site of MRP Realty’s (MRP) planned Edgewood mixed-use development Bryant Street, at 680 Rhode Island Ave in Northeast Washington, D.C. The two-day, annual cider-tasting event will be held on Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28.

“Our annual event brings together cider-lovers of all backgrounds to commence the holiday season over a shared fall tradition,” said Steuart Martens, Founder and CEO, Drink the District. “The festival is always held in a growing, attractive Metro-accessible area to expose residents to a new part of the city. We think attendees will really enjoy the Edgewood neighborhood, with Metro’s Red Line station at Rhode Island Avenue less than a five-minute walk from the festival grounds.”

Uniting the District’s cider lovers and fall enthusiasts, Rock the Core will feature a curated selection of regional cideries and breweries. The pop-up festival will offer over 100+ ciders, craft beers and wines onsite with three 3-hour sessions of unlimited samples. While sipping and exploring fall’s best variety of apple flavors, attendants will be treated to top D.C.-based food trucks, a local artisan market, live entertainment, lawn games and Ford’s Built Ford Tough Toughest Tailgate. Additionally, there will be a retail store location on-site so attendees can purchase the beverages they’ve tasted to take home. (more…)
