A lot of good ones this week, especially with the “carbonite” theme but I had to go with this one from Drewlove:

“Annoyed by the little girl next door’s unceasing “Mary had a Little Lamb” chants, Darth Vader once again employed his carbon freeze technique so he could finally get a %#@! nap.”

Please email me directly so I can get you a t-shirt.

I know I’ve shown this odd sculpture before but it seems promising for a caption contest. Your caption in the comments, winner announced Friday and gets a free PoP t-shirt.

This week’s was a super tough one so congrats to the winner, DCDireWolf:

“All I want for Christmas is more bike lanes and a bottomless supply of lithium.”

Please email me directly so I can get you a t-shirt.

I promise I won’t become obsessed with Santa Claus but I couldn’t resist this photo. Your caption in the comments section and winner announced Friday. Winner, of course, gets a PoP t-shirt.

Winner by popular demand from Christopher:

“santa and the holy ghost awkwardly acknowledged each other from opposite sides of the street, each kicking himself for getting caught up in the same fast and flashy gimmicks while trying to win over the faith and belief of todays kids”

Please email me directly so I can get you a t-shirt.

This one may be a bit more challenging than previous contests but looking in the background of the photo should help. Winner gets new PoP t-shirt and will be announced Friday.

Well, we’ve got a short week so let’s end it with a question I’ve been wrestling with a for a while. At what age do you stop going to your folks house for Thanksgiving? If you’re going home for the winter/Christmas holiday – do you also go home for Thanksgiving? Or do you invite your folks to come to DC for Thanksgiving?  I’m spending Thanksgiving in DC with friends and I’m unbelievably psyched for it. I’m going to see my folks in Dec. so I don’t feel too bad. But I do have a little nagging guilt. So how do you guys split your Thanksgiving/Winter holiday travels?

And it’s time for the annual Thanksgiving photo contest. Above is a photo from last year’s contest. All you have to do is take a photo from your T-day and email it to [email protected]

Thanks a million to the reader who kept updating me with the whereabouts of this crazy bus until I could finally snap a photo. It’s been spotted on Rock Creek Church Road for almost a week. Dang, I suppose this would’ve made for a good caption contest. Well, if you’re feeling particularly inspired we can have a bonus caption contest.

Wow, I think this contest had the best entries so far. Extremely difficult to pick a winner. However, a winner we must have. Please email me directly so I can get you a PoP t-shirt.

Winner from Craig:

Looking at the newly constructed wall, Stella thought to herself “Damn you stupid immigration reform!”

Runner up from SKim:

Stella woke up on a strange porch feeling empty yet again. Her cap was missing, her mouth was covered in a strangers slobber and there were hand prints all over her long neck. At least her label was still on this time she thought. Sadly she realized that big city life and partying hard was not for her. With one last glance back at the gang, she slipped away to go back to the small town where she grew up.

Your caption in the comments section. Winner gets a PoP t-shirt (if you’ve won in the past you can get one of the new shirts), announced Friday.
