It’s unanimous – from WDC:
“Unable to afford the Prius he wanted, Wendell introduced his jeep to a cute tree, and waited patiently for them to produce a hybrid.”

Your caption in the comments and the winner announced Friday. If there is a particular caption you really like, let me know and I’ll pick a reader winner as well.

Reader pick – Anon@10:20:
“Al Franken’s new DC residence…’Cause I’m good enough, smart enough, and doggonit people like me.’”
PoP pick – from DC Mom:
“Now the Jehovahs Witnesses can talk to someone who will really listen.”

This is another true archive photo. I remember remarking back in the day that I thought it was pretty hilarious to have a mirror on the outside of your door. Seems ripe for a caption contest. Your captions in the comments and winner announced Friday.

Reader winner from 20 Something:
“Looks like the city is getting desperate to find jobs for the Summer Youth Employment Program.”
PoP selection from Anon 11:41am:
“Dumpster Diving: Lifeguard off duty. Dive at your own risk.”

Well this one is truly odd. If you look at the back left hand side of the photo you’ll see what seems to be a lifeguard chair. Problem is – there’s no pool. In fact it’s just overlooking a parking lot.
Your captions in the comments and winner picked Friday. If you do win don’t forget to email me so you can get your PoP t-shirt.

Well it was an abbreviated week due to the long weekend so here’s your winner from Matt G:
“And by ’special’, we don’t mean the “Gee, that child sure is bright and talented”-type special, we mean the “Gee, that child likes to eat its own dandruff”-type special.”

I thought this was a pretty funny sight because there was only one beat up Cadillac in the lot. Your captions in the comments and winner announced Thursday due to the holiday Friday.

Congrats to Matt G who is the reader winner with:
“If its all Greek to you…Call us!”
My selection for winner is Binklesworth with:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega: the beginning and end of your tax problems.*
License and bond certification pending”
And honorable mention goes to Chris, who has now cracked me up 3 weeks in a row:
“A building painted back in the 70’s and not re-painted since then called, it wants its paint job back!”

OK, this is a real archives photo. When I first saw this sign on Mt. Pleasant Street, I asked, “shouldn’t it be called Delta Omega”? But obviously you can do much better than that. Add your caption in the comments section. Winner announced Friday. And if you have an entry you particularly like, say it, so I can pick a reader winner as well!
