OK, this is definitely the most requested reader door of the day. And I understand, it is most definitely dope sky. But this is the last time for a while. It’s from 2133 R Street, NW and the house is amazing as well:

Awesome call. The reader writes of this house on Longfellow between 2nd and 3rd Streets NW:
“From what I could tell driving by, its a red brick house, but they’ve painted the mortar a vivid blue, then on the trim, they’ve put lots of small blue and white dots. Overall, it has a very Caribbean feel to it. And a nice “welcome” sign above the door.”

I’ve always been struck by this building located at Leroy and Connecticut Ave., NW. Perhaps it is just the colors or the sign out front consistently advertising “14 Luxury Apartments”. As self proclaimed royalty myself, the name – King William – also resonates with me. What do you think about the building itself?

Thanks to a reader for sending:

“Saw this cool looking house at w and 12th nw tonight. Not sure if
you’ve featured it as the house of the day, but if you haven’t yet you
definitely should!”

I’ve definitely posted this great house before. Sadly, and ridiculously, I can’t find it in the archives but it’s certainly worth sharing again!

This is a pretty cool corner at 20th and Florida Streets NW. This cool building is right across the street. But I like the one featured today as it kinda reminds me of a Mexican villa. What do you think thumbs up or down? Anyone know what the apartments are like inside?

I love this mini Sun Trust Bank building off North Captiol near Union Station:

And below is one of my favorite blocks of row houses in the city. From the 500 block of L Street, NW rounding out my Mt. Vernon Triangle tour:

This great door is just a few doors down from today’s HoTD (below). I kinda like how the door is of center with the entryway.

This is a beautiful renovation that is nearly completed. Someone help me out, where’d I take this photo. I know it’s around the Mt. Vernon neighborhood. Beautiful.

Wow, I’m glad I stumbled into the Mt. Vernon Triangle/Square (which is it Triangle or Square) neighborhood. It has really changed a lot since I last was there. This awesome building is located at the corner of 4th and Mass Ave, NW. Do you like the style?

Of note, and I remembering reading about this back in the day, is the little building formerly housing Ledo Pizza that was not torn down:

Interestingly, there is also a new(ish) building across the street that has an old firehouse that was not torn down:

More photos of the featured building after the jump. (more…)
