“Ariel is a beautiful 2 year old MAINE COON girl. She is used to living with other cats, but is scared of dogs. Ariel was adopted as a kitten but returned as an adult (through no fault of her own, she’s a sweetie), so she’s confused and used to having humans to love. She is looking for her forever home. If you are interested in adopting Ariel, please email [email protected]

“Anakin is sweet, lovable and fun! Approximately 3 years old and about 50 pounds, he loves marrow bones, bully sticks and treats! He’s very food motivated, knows how to sit, and LOVES being outside, especially if he can chase squirrels and birds. He would make a great family dog, probably a good running partner, hiking, etc. – he thinks you chasing him is the best game ever! Anakin has shown no problems with kids, but has not been cat tested. He’s great on leash and is overall an easy boy. If you’re interested in adopting Anakin, please email [email protected] or complete the application at www.ruraldogrescue.com”

“This is our recently adopted puppy mutt from Homeward Trails. Paddington (named after another adopted orphan animal of mysterious origins, the children’s literary legend Paddington Bear) is six months old. He goes by “Paddy” or his wilder alter ego, P-diddington. He loves the Columbia Heights Dog Park and is especially fond of Timber Pizza Company because of all the crumbs he finds on the patio. Special thanks to the staff at Meridian Pint who gave him lots of treats on his first night out in the neighborhood.”
