Sometimes when life gets a little ruff, you need some help from your friends. Carrie and Jazzy’s owner passed away unexpectedly, and they find themselves in need of a new home. Carrie is approximately 9 years old, and Jazzy is about 3 years old. They are both good with other dogs and kids, are house trained, and are very sweet girls with moderate energy levels. They need to go to a home together, so Rural Dog Rescue will reduce the adoption fee to make sure these lovely ladies find the right new family. To find out more about Carrie and Jazzy, check out their pages here or email [email protected]

Toby (a/k/a Toby Too) is too cute, too sweet, and too years old (was that too much?)! Obviously Toby is incredible handsome, but he’s also playful, snuggly, and affectionate! He’s very fond of having his ears scratched, so will help you relax by hanging out on your lap while you do it! He’s a goofy, fun boy looking for his fur-ever home. He finds change and chaos a little unsettling (don’t we all?), so would do best in a calmer environment, but he gets along with other cats and love love loves his people! You can find out more about and apply to adopt Toby here or email his foster family at [email protected]

“Junebug, adopted from a DC rescue, enjoying a new rug (and apartment!) in Glover Park”

“Meet Minkler of Shaw. The Humane Rescue Alliance collected an injured stray cat that needed to have his right rear leg removed, and since we’ve already set up our home to be cat-cessible for Tri-Kai (who is also a trip) we thought it made sense to adopt this cute guy so he can learn how to keep things exciting from an older sister. Here are separate pictures of all 3 of our feline friends — the new family member, Tri-Kai, and Bea Bea.”

Astro, Hubble and Lyra are all 3 month old Plott Hound/Mountain Cur mix puppies looking for a home. (Don’t worry, these litter-mates are each looking for their own separate homes!) Hubble, pictured below, should steal your heart with his adorable antics. Astro and Lyra are pretty cute too! Check them all out on the City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties website under “Cosmos Puppies”.

Darling Winona had a tough start in life. She was left at a shelter with a number of other cats who were all very sick. Winona was the worst off and had to have her eye removed due to the trauma it received when she was ill. She is an adorable pirate cat that you should definitely apply to meet to see how sweet she is in person! You can tell Winona is truly grateful to have been rescued because she’s such an affectionate, sweet kitty. She loves to be petted and she enjoys snuggling with her blankets — while she doesn’t scratch furniture, she enjoys kneading whatever fabric she’s standing on. More info on Winona here.
