Snezkha and Jack were born in Moscow, Russia, about 14 years ago. Snezkha (which means “Snowflake”) is the “pretty one,” with her thick white coat, husky growl, and mysterious allure (sort of like Lauren Bacall). Jack is more the strong, silent type. We keep an eye on each other and are the best of friends.

In Moscow we were always kept in a canine orphanage, so we didn’t have much contact with people or other dogs, and we were uncomfortable around others. Nobody understood us and they thought we preferred to keep to ourselves, but at the beginning of 2019, a nice person in Moscow arranged for us to come to Washington, D.C.! There, we found ourselves at the Humane Rescue Alliance where we met lots of good people and started to realize how much more the world has to offer!

If you’d like more information or would like to meet us, contact [email protected]. As an added bonus, if you’re over 50, Snezkha’s adoption fee is waived as part of the Boomer’s Buddies program! Standard adoption procedures apply.

At 14 years old, I’m the perfect house companion: I do well on my own, but nothing makes me happier than snuggling or resting near you. I’m quiet at night and let you sleep in, but as soon as you’re awake I’ll greet you with purrs and hope for some snuggles or pets. I always use my litter box and I only scratch on designated scratching posts. When your friends come over, I might hide for a few minutes, and then they’ll become my friends too. If you’d like to meet me through the Humane Rescue Alliance, contact my foster mom at [email protected]. *** As an added bonus, my adoption fee is waived! Standard adoption procedures apply. ***

Hey everybody – meet Wallace, who may just be the world’s most perfect medium-energy dog! At 8 years old, Wallace loves to go for walks and explore, but also loves to chill out and snuggle. He gets along with other dogs, and can be tested with cats if needed. Wallace has quickly become a favorite in his foster home, due to his sweet and loving personality and full body waggability! He is heartworm positive but with treatment and a regular preventative, should be just fine to be an awesome companion for years to come! Find out more about adopting this handsome fella here.

Say hello to pretty princess Whitney! Whitney gets along well with other cats, and with her canine foster brother too – she’s an equal-opportunity friend. Could this amazing sweetie be the kitty for you?
