Say hi to Elise! This 50-lb., approximately 3-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix was rescued from a rural shelter. She was dreadfully skinny, but you won’t find a happier or friendlier gal! She’s the best coach you could ask for – now that she’s at a healthier weight, she will keep you motivated to run, hike, or take long walks (it’s amazing how much less it feels like exercise when you have a loving dog by your side). Elise’s foster mom says she has been a dream in the home and is calm and well-behaved, as well as good in her crate. Elise is smart and treat motivated, so she’s a great candidate for training classes and learning new tricks. She is wonderful with other dogs and has done well with children, making her an excellent choice for a family dog. While she doesn’t seem to want to harm her kitty friends, she is very playful and likely a bit too much for them (perhaps she can have a kitty when she’s older!). Elise is ready to complete your home and family! To learn more about her and the adoption process, please visit here.

“Name: Hoagie
Home: U St. Corridor.

Hoagie is my first pup and boy, did we both luck out on finding each other. He’s a rescue Jindo mix directly from South Korea — a journey I took many, many years ago myself. This month is his first year anniversary in America with me. As a nod to his Phily namesake, I plan to treat him to a Wawa hoagie.”

“This dapper dog is Duke, an 8 year old Lab-Rottweiler mix from Shepherd Park. He’s negotiating for a treat in between his main activities of sleeping and getting in the way.”

Becky is a sweet little lady looking for a home where she can continue enjoying some of her favorite activities, such as sunbathing, birdwatching, and napping in her pineapple-shaped bed (if you adopt Becky, her bed comes with her!). This pretty calico is polite and well-behaved. She waits patiently for breakfast, but will tap you gently with her paw if you sleep in too late. She is equally cuddly and independent. She loves receiving cuddles and will greet you at the door when you come home from work, but when she’s not seeking attention, you bet she’s off taking a nice long nap in one of her favorite spots. To learn more about Becky, email [email protected].

Miss Nona is an affectionate and energetic little lady who adores cuddling with her humans and never gets tired of playing fetch with her favorite ball. She is crate/house trained and will sit by the front door to alert you when she needs to go out. She loves attention from people but can be particular when choosing her doggy friends and is very excitable when greeting other dogs while out for walks. Nona has recently become one of our surprise “rockstars” in off-leash playgroup, doing well with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Check out our website to see videos of her with romping with small puppies and big dogs, alike! What are you waiting for?! Come meet this playful little lady!! To learn more, email [email protected].

“This is Hazel. We live at Eastern Market. Her instagram is @hazel_the_pit. Hazel’s favorite pastime is sitting on our stoop and begging people to love her. There are never enough love and pets to be had. I got her from Lost Dog and Cat rescue a little over 4 years ago.”
