14th and Colorado Ave, NW

Not ideal weather but tonight’s happy hour is still a go!! I’ll be there by 6pm and to entice a few more of you. I’ll be bringing some long sleeved PoPville shirts to give out for free. First come first served. Speaking of first come first served, the first 25 folks will also get a complimentary Hot Toddy courtesy Jameson Irish Whiskey! Cheers and hope to see a few brave souls tonight – head up stairs when you get there!

Let’s pour some out for the Shutdown, for the winter woes and for Dingo.  Let’s also toast the good times and appreciate the good stuff still around us.  Details here at the Facebook event page but basically 6:00-10:00pm (ish) upstairs at Moreland’s (14th and Colorado Ave, NW.)  And if I owe you a shirt or you’ve been looking for one (or a onesie), I’ll bring plenty for you to pick up then. Hope to see more new and old faces Thursday – cheers!

Today is a very sad day. My daily companion for the past 13 years has passed. Unfortunately Dingo had cancer (among other issues.) As long time readers know she was truly the greatest cat one could ever ask for. She was loving. She never judged. She was great with kids. She loved everyone. Except mice. She was a great mouser. Restaurants opened, restaurants closed. Dogs shit and people did not always pick up. People continued to ride bikes and rent e-scooters. And cars. People yelled at each other. And helped each other. People got speeding tickets. And parking tickets. And mail, sometimes. Wheels were stolen. Metro continued being metro. Packages were received. Packages were stolen. People broke the law. Sometimes horrifically. People continued to donate and do good. Sometimes phenomenally. The Caps brought it home. The Nats did not. Blocks bloomed. Blocks wilted. Fires blazed. Our responders responded. Our bravest put them out. The waterfronts soared. Rats rose up but hawks flew and dined very well. The White Whale was spotted everywhere. (more…)
