Well-Paid Maids Operations Manager Ogi on her recent vacation in Miami

Well-Paid Maids goes on vacation!

OK, well not all of us at once — we’re still available to professionally clean your home. But we have a healthy, industry-leading vacation policy. Take a look:

  • 20 paid days off per year
  • 2 paid holidays

If you lost count, that’s more than a month of paid time off per year. In the coming months, we have a number of employees taking well-deserved time away from work.

  • One is taking an entire month off for Ramadan so he can focus on his faith and his family.
  • Another employee is taking a week-long anniversary trip to Las Vegas with her partner. This will be her first time on a plane, so we’re sending calming vibes her way.
  • Finally, we have an employee planning her destination wedding in the Dominican Republic. We can’t wait to see photos!

Well-Paid Maids, the District’s only living-wage home cleaning company, is committed to using safe, eco-friendly products.

In the spirit of full transparency, the company lists the specific cleaning products on its website. Each has been rated “low concern” or “lowest concern” from the Environmental Working Group, a leading organization that researches and rates products based on health and sustainability.

Clients are happy with this choice, too. Yelp reviewer J.O. said:

“…the eco-products smell like a day spa and don’t linger (unlike harsher cleaners). With a small child and pets, it’s really important that our house isn’t getting bombarded with chemicals, and the products they use clean just as well!”

Elle V. wrote:

“…when they’re done, my house doesn’t smell like a chemical bomb went off. It’s just CLEAN.”

Of course, Well-Paid Maids is committed to providing clients the best experience — but they also look after their employees.

The majestic Washington National Cathedral celebrates Palm Sunday with the dramatic retelling of the life of the prophet Elijah and the epic return of the Jewish people to Israel, Sunday, April 10, at 4 p.m.

The Washington National Cathedral Choir and Baroque Orchestra will bring Felix Mendelssohn’s famed oratorio Elijah, Op. 70 to vivid life in the acoustically ideal gothic nave of the historic Cathedral. Soloists from the Cathedral’s Great Choir, accompanied by the Baroque Orchestra, will enliven the beginning of Holy Week with selections including, “Lord, bow thine ear to hear our prayer” and “He, Watching Over Israel.”

The briskly paced oratorio, which premiered in 1846, is considered one of the composer’s masterpieces, rivaling Handel’s Messiah in its celebratory powers. The seven-story-high vaulted ceilings of the Cathedral, the sixth-largest in the world, will reverberate with Mendelssohn’s majestic music and prepare spectators for the splendors of Holy Week.
