This is the next in the series of my walking past shops dozens of times before actually entering. Moojoo Ken means unconditional in Japanese but on 14th Street it means a pretty cool store. They design their own shoes, scarves, handbags, jewelry and more. As my knowledge of women’s boutiques is pretty limited the ladies will have to check it out and let us know what the verdict is.  Located at 1512 U Street make sure you walk up a flight of stairs to enter the shop. Some more photos after the jump. (more…)

This reader asks a very interesting question that I have witnessed frequently but never thought of:

“Basically.. almost every building in the city cleans the sidewalks by spraying them with a hose. Some guy stands there and uses a regular garden hose to wash away everything into the gutter every day. What a waste is that? What ever happened to a broom? Are they so lazy? Is sweeping really so inferior that anyone would notice how much dirtier the sidewalk is? It seems stupid to me.

Greenpeace and all these people are all environmental and all that and right where they stand, countless gallons of water get wasted daily for no visible benefit but everyone kinda just walks by.”

Yeah, I didn’t have a chance in hell on figuring out what numbers these were. Good luck to the Police and Fire departments.
