I was at a bbq where someone noticed this crazy light pole. That is insane. One lightning bolt and four blocks of houses would be screwed.

But it reminds me of a funny story. My father is a very proud New Yorker. So one day he sees a cab driver pull over to the curb and throw out a bottle of questionable content. So my dad bombs over to the guy and says “this is New York City! We don’t do that in New York City!”. And the guy apologizes and throws out the bottle in a garbage can. There have been so many times when I’ve wanted to bomb over to cars or people who are littering and say – this is Washington, DC! We don’t do that in Washington, DC!

Well DCDirewolf wasn’t able to send me the picture of a chicken on 11th Street so I thought I’d show y’all a picture of the greatest chicken I’ve ever seen. Note the sweet hair.
So comment of the day is from the stuffed chicken post:
Chris comments, “Does anyone know where the real chicken walking around on 11th street (near Wonderland) came from?”
Odentex responds, “Chris, my guess would be “an egg”.
Brilliant.

From Herb: “Due to the high cost of gasoline, 4th of July parade goers were asked to line up and march by the Columbia Heights float.”
Runner up is from Chrissy: “The Not So Secret Garden”
Email me directly so I can get you your t-shirts.

Bam, are you kidding me? Right on.

I can now add a pear tree to the collection. This one was wicked hard to spot. For those keeping track at home that makes a peach tree, apricot tree, apple tree and now a pear tree. You’d think we’re living in sunny California or something. I hope someone’s making some nice pies.

This is an incredible corner row house in Mt. P. Check the details up top. Plus it has one of those sweet roofs.

I can’t believe I’ve never noticed this ridiculously cool sign from Bohemian Caverns.

I think we may have discussed this earlier but how long do you have to live in DC before you can adopt their sports teams? Will I ever be a Redskins fan? It’s easy to route for the Nationals because they are a new team. Is it possible to adopt the others?
I think this fan is such a huge supporter of the Bengals that they painted their home Bengals orange. Now that’s a super fan, particularly when you live in DC. Full photo of the home after the jump. (more…)
