“Don’t know who else to contact (called the HS earlier today and they couldn’t help me), but I was wondering if you’ve figured out how to access the Roosevelt HS track during the allotted hours (http://www.princeofpetworth.com/?p=3502). Every time I jog over it’s not open. Very frustrating, as it looks beautiful!”

Hmm, ANC Joe Martin (Joseph.Martin (at) DC.gov) is usually good about these things. Have any other readers been able to access the track located on Upshur Street just west of Georgia Ave.?

I haven’t found a good city sticker in a while until I stumbled upon this one. It is indeed, Fantastico.

I think these columns kick ass. There’s about 4 houses in a row that have these and they all look super fresh.

Given our previous discussions of painted rowhomes, I think this color blue turned out really well.

A reader asked for a status update on Dave’s Tavern which we first learned about back in September. Unfortunately there was nobody there I could speak with but you can sorta tell from the photo that it looks like they still have a little ways to go before opening. Though I do think it’s a positive sign that they’ve acquired some kitchen equipment.

I promise this won’t be a regular feature (unless you like it) but I was in Austin last week and I was really struck by this building. Sorry I only had my cell phone camera (yes, I’m aware there are better cell phone cameras out there…) but it made me think if DC is missing out on architecture like this due to the height limits. But first let me ask – do you like this building? If so, do you think DC is hindered in these options by the height limits?

This home is located at 5213 13th Street, NW:

An eagled eyed reader sent this one to me. It appears there was a typo and the original price was listed at $260,000. But the actual price is $560,000. It looks like a pretty sweet house. But this one will be tough to judge because it’s lacking inside photos. If we trust the description as accurate – do you think this sounds like a reasonable price? If anyone lives near here – how are the public schools?

Asylum is of course a neighborhood landmark located at 2471 18th Street, NW in Adams Morgan. I had only known of the spot as a bar. But I’ve been hearing that it has an incredible brunch. On their Web site they announce that they are “DCist’s Favorite Breakfasts”. You can see their menu here. So what’s the word – is the breakfast really that good?

I hope it is because Asylum’s owner John Andrade will be opening a new spot, Meridian Pint in the old Bi-Rite building at 11th and Park, NW.
