“Dear PoP,

My coworker and I live up in your neck of the woods (MtP for me, CH for him) and love the variety of delicious food options in that area. We work, unfortunately, in Rosslyn, the black hole of dining in DC. There was only one restaurant in the hood that was even remotely worth while to eat at: Spice of Life. They have a delicious chicken veggie hummous pita sandwich that I think is darn tasty (also some really good soups). One day the door was closed and the lights were off. No sign. No explanation. Nothing. It’s been months and we’re waiting for something: the owners got back from vacation, there was a health code violation, it was sold. Something. I know this isn’t exactly your jurisdiction, but do you have any news? Any other PoP readers?”

I’ve heard there are some good places in Rosslyn. Sadly, I never went to this one. Anyone work out in Rossyln know what happened to this joint (located at 1401 Wilson Blvd)?

Ed. Note: Photo above is from London but I couldn’t find a photo of the one in Rosslyn…

This is “The Temple Garden” located behind the Scottish Rite House of the Temple on 15th near S.

I suppose I could go to the Web site listed in the photo above but does anyone know how you get a plot there?

Though actually I really dig the steps leading up to it. Pretty unusual. I dig it.

I really like some of these rowhomes that have a bit of deep front yard. I can’t remember if I’ve asked this before but if your neighborhood becomes “safer” would you ever remove the bars from the first floor?

The scandalous gossip from almost a year ago turns out to be true. Thanks to Petworth News who got the rendering above from Robb L. It says LaKritz Adler has signed a lease for a CVS to be built at Georgia and New Hampshire Ave and construction is set to begin in the fall with the store opening in late spring 2010.

I’ve come to support this addition. Have some of you guys changed your mind?

A number of folks have mentioned the Cato building located at 1000 Mass. Ave, NW. I have to say, it does look pretty cool. Does the glass part provide extra used space or is just for style?  (I can’t tell from the photo.) What do you think of the look, thumbs up or down?

This condo is located at 1806 Belmont Road, NW:

More info and photos found here.

This one sounds and looks pretty sweet. Does $445,000 sound reasonable?
