Man, I’m gonna miss Brookland…<

Spectacular. Notice the name up top. Very cool.

I dig that second floor balcony. Since it’s Friday I have to post another insane HotD before I forget:

New park coming to French and 10th Streets in Shaw. I’ve always liked that little park, it’ll be great when completed.

Brookland ain’t just about churches! San Antonio bar and grill is located at 3908 12th Street NE. It’s got some pretty good buzz on Yelp.

He found it at “23rd and Penn, SE. Just across the bridge over the Anacostia.” Anyone ever eat there? It kinda reminds me of what those awesome faded signs, we see around town, probably looked like in their prime.

“Dear PoP,
I see online that it is, or was, Brookland week. I would encourage you to stop by the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center, just north of the Basillica off of Harewood Rd. I drove up Harewood Avenue after mass at the Basillica a few weeks ago and was like, “What the heck is that?” Personally, I think the building and front lawn are gorgeous!”
Yup, was pretty taken with this building. And the lawn was amazing. I was telling my buddy who was showing me around that this would be a great spot for a frisbee game. I have truly enjoyed “Brookland week”! Also right next door to the Cultural Center is another cool church – Ukranian Catholic Shrine.

But I’m most curious what you think about the Cultural Center located at 3900 Harewood Road, NE?

This sweet photo is from gc-dc. Sometimes black and white photos offer such a different feel. Super cool. I think this is the tunnel on Rock Creek Parkway near Woodley Park.

This condo is located at 1615 Kenyon Street, NW:
The flier says:
“WALK TO METRO & NEW COL. HTS SHOPPING/RESTAURANTS (TARGET, BEST BUY, GIANT/THE HEIGHTS, RUMBEROS), EVER-POPULAR ADAMS MORGAN. READY TO GO UNIT IN SMALLER, HISTORIC BUILDING OVERLOOKING COURTYARD W/ FRESH PAINT, WOOD FLOORS, NEW FRIDGE, GOOD CLOSET SPACE + XTRA STORAGE. COMMUNITY LAUNDRY ROOM. INTERCOM AT FRONT DOOR. EASY, IN-TOWN LIVING.”
More info and photos found here.
I really like this location and I’m often curious about these medium sized buildings. But I have to admit, I really cracked up when I saw a photo of the laundry room in the building. I didn’t know that’s an area you’d want to focus on. I like how the flier also mentions an Intercom and Fresh Paint. Reaching a bit, eh? Otherwise this looks like a classic one bedroom. So does classic one bedroom going for $299,000 sound reasonable?

Brasserie Beck is located at 1101 K Street, NW. I feel like I’ve heard tons of buzz about this spot yet I know nothing about it. The menu looks good if a bit pricey. I haven’t had a croque monsieur in ages. They also have a huge beer menu. So what’s the word? Is it worth the coin?
