So Temperance Hall has officially become Looking Glass Lounge. I’ve been to LGL a number of times now and I have to say I’m pretty happy. There hasn’t been a lot of change and I’m super psyched about the Boddington’s on tap. I’m also a huge fan of the ipod that now plays when the juke box is not in use. Eric the bartender, thankfully, has a phenomenal taste in music. I’ve also seen Matt, one of the owners, there a number of times and I think that is a great sign of his commitment to the new bar. So have you guys noticed any changes? What are your thoughts? Have you met some of the new bartenders? Overall would you say the experience is mostly the same, worse or better?

This kid was phenomenal. He kept doing this trick where he flipped his board and twisted it around like 720 degrees and landed perfectly back on it only moving a few feet. It was amazing. Unfortunately my photography skills are far inferior to his skateboarding skills and I was unable to capture him mid air, even though I asked him to do it like 12 times. Dang, if he didn’t land it perfectly all 12 times. Anyway, I’ve noticed tons of skateboarders around town. I know people here feel strongly about bike riders and sharing the sidewalk so what are your thoughts on the skateboarders?

I’ve walked by Acuario dozens of times on 11th St. near Columbia Heights Coffee. It looks nice from the outside but I seem to recall reading somewhere that there has been some trouble outside the restaurant from time to time. Anyone know the scoop on this? Better yet has anyone eaten here?

These ones are really nice. I wonder what they mean. Do they bring you good luck, long life, happiness? Can anyone translate these for me? Of all the ones I’ve seen around town these definitely seem to be the coolest.

So what’s the deal with all this glass? It seems to be a trend with office buildings around town. Do you notice many condos going all glass as well? Is it a lot cheaper than brick? Or is all just for style? What do you think about the glass trend?

This is the wildest back of a row house I’ve seen. Super futuristic. But my question is: Does it make sense to have super large windows in the back of a row house that presumably looks out onto an alley? Or is it worth it to hopefully get more light?

Just all around beautiful from the windows to all the details…

This a very timely question.  So my house is heated by radiators and it is freaking awesome.  There is very little nicer than putting your clothes on the radiator and then having nice warm clothes to put on after a shower.  At any rate I don’t have many air conditioners. And of course DC summers can be brutal.  So what are your thoughts on Central Air?  Is it worth it to lose your radiators for central air?

3103 11th St, NW – $679,000

4 Bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms.

I think this is a phenomenal location. So, worth it or not? If not, what would be a more realistic price, assuming the inside is nice?

Now I’ll think again before dreaming of those low housing prices in Petworth. These stories make Capitol Hill seem worth the price.”

People who think that what I experienced only happens in Petworth are living in a fantasy land. Now, I’m very fond of Capitol Hill but I can cite dozens upon dozens of incidents including home invasion, rape, muggings etc in Capitol Hill (and the “safe” parts too.). I’m not trying to pit one neighborhood against another here but to label Petworth unlivable just because of this one incident is unacceptable and quite frankly ludicrous. Petworth indeed does have some crime, so does Columbia Heights and guess what? So does Capitol Hill and Adams Morgan and Georgetown and practically every other neighborhood in the city. I was a jackass walking home alone at 1:32 in the morning. I’m not saying I’ll stop walking alone but shit goes down at 1:32 am. Dang, I’m starting to ramble a bit here, am I making any sense?
