“I will take the plunge and declare that my favorite place to have a nice lunch is the Taqueria Del Distrito Federal.

What is your favorite monument in DC? This is a monument for Marconi who lived from 1874-1937. You can find this monument off 16th Street and Park Road. I don’t know who Marcon is. I don’t know what he did. What I do know, is that he has the sweetest monument in our nation’s capitol. So what is your favorite monument in our nation’s capitol?

Some bastards [Ed note: Bastards, pronounced ‘bah-stahds’ for emphasis.] ruined the beautiful mural behind the Tubman school in Columbia Heights. I mean, you got to be some kind of sick, to spray paint over the work of/for some kids. What is the thought process here, peer pressure?

I noticed this gate that led up to a new condo on 14th Street. It kind of made me feel like it was a compound of some sort. [Ed note: If you should happen to find yourself in a compound of any kind, absolutely do not drink the kool aid.] Is this extra security necessary or an eyesore?

>Updated: I drank the kool aid and it wasn’t so bad.

My trigger finger was a bit too slow but the red hand actually started flashing at 21 seconds. 21 seconds! This is crossing New Hampshire avenue at Shepherd. We’re not talking about the Cours Mirabeau here. It certainly doesn’t take 21 seconds to finish crossing, so cut me some slack show me the walking guy for ten more seconds. Yeah?

I was admiring this house when the owner walks up with a couple of cups of coffee. He naturally looks at me as though I am slightly insane but fortunately I have become used to that look. At any rate, I ask him if he minds if I photograph his vestibule. Without hesitation he says sure no problem. So I walk up his walkway towards the door and he says “woah, where’s the vestibule?”. Ha! That is beautiful. I show him the area with the dope sky tiling. Truth be known I wouldn’t know what a vestibule was if I wasn’t a stock boy in my youth at Richmindway (the CVS of my town) and often told to sweep the vestibule. The first time I was told to sweep a vestibule I’m sure I had a look on my face similar to the one the owner of this house had. But anyway, this tiling is ridiculous no? Whoever else has a sweet vestibule send me a photo. For some reason I just can’t get enough of these. Can you tell how cool this tiling is?

Tell me you don’t love this house. And if you don’t love this house I suggest you head straight back to Russia because this house is sick. Fantastic windows and a nice shade of blue, kind of reminds me of my summers in Odessa…
