It was kind of hard to get a good angle of this mural but after approximately 1278 times walking across U Street this is the first time I noticed it. Too bad it’s blocked a bit by the adjacent building.

I love this cart that goes between the cake love store and the love cafe across the street. It’s a beautiful sight. I’m not a big cake fan personally but I hear their goods are out of this world. Any fans here?

This “drop dead gorgeous renovation of a 1910 Victorian rowhouse” is located at 3617 New Hampshire Ave a block away from the Petworth metro. The asking price is $659,000. So what do you think, a good price or they’re dreaming?

Thanks to a reader for sending me a link to this DCist post on the robbery that took place right in the middle of the day on U Street. It is well worth your while to read the comments. Personally, I could not possibly feel safer walking around U Street. I’m very sad that this robbery took place but I certainly don’t think it is an indictment of the neighborhood. But what do you think? Is U Street a dangerous neighborhood that would make you feel uncomfortable walking around, even during the day?

While I like it, it is kind of boring. I mean maybe a more boring name for a home would be “the Irving”. I don’t know. What about “the Vermillion”. Now that has a nice ring to it. The Jason? I’m afraid it’s a bit weak. Of course there is probably some sad story related to “Jason” and if that is the case I apologize. Nevertheless, long live the Irving!
