Labor Day marked the unofficial end of summer. Now, it’s time to lean into the back-to-school season.

We are a local micro-roaster that precision roasts high-quality beans sourced from small farms in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Most of the coffee we source is grown and produced by women.

Heads up: Well-Paid Maids will be OOO this coming Monday. Labor Day is one of four paid holidays we give our employees. They also get an additional 20 PTO days each year.

Labor Day feels particularly important to us. Taking the day for a little R&R allows us to reflect on our employees’ hard work over the past year and show them some extra appreciation.

ArtRave is excited to announce a special cultural artisan fair on Saturday, August 24th at their Dupont Circle venue (1913 Mass Ave, where PNC Bank, Connecticut and P Street meet) from 11 am to 5 pm. ArtRave and another group will cover 2 blocks showcasing amazing artisan works from different countries! For 16 years, ArtRave has curated shows that effectively bring out diversity inspired by cultural backgrounds. When asked recently about their motivation, they answered, “It’s the best way to lower the temperature of hate so reason may arise!” One artisan added that the diverse artisan backgrounds make it feel like “a league of nations” culturally.
