MPD Reports Sexual Assaults in Eckington, Carver/Langston and Pleasant Plains, Suspect Arrested in Pleasant Plains Case.

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection with a First Degree Sexual Assault and Burglary which occurred in the 1900 block of Lincoln Road, NE.

On Sunday, April 14, 2013, at approximately 3:45 am, an adult female received a knock at her door. Upon answering, an unknown male asked to use the telephone, at which time the victim agreed. Once inside, she was sexually assaulted by the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’8” to 5’10” in height, dark complexion, short hair, with no facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, and khaki pants.

Anyone who has knowledge of this case, knows the identity of the suspect or sees him, should take no action, but should immediately call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.

On Saturday, April 13, 2013, at approximately 1:55 am, an adult woman was walking in the area of 21st and H Street, NE when she was approached by an unknown group of males. One of the males grabbed and pulled the victim to another location where she was sexually assaulted by three unknown males. The descriptions of the suspects are as follows:

Suspect one: Black male, 5’0 to 5’5 in height, no facial hair, and in his 20s. He was last seen wearing an orange hoody, just above shoulder length dreads.
Suspect two: Black male, bald head, slim build, young in age.
Suspect three: Black male.

Anyone who has knowledge of this case, knows the identity of the suspects or sees them, should take no action, but should immediately call police at 202-727-9099. Additionally information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that an arrest has been made in the First Degree Sexual Assault that occurred in the 2600 Block of Georgia Avenue, NW.

On Saturday, April 13, 2013, at approximately 4:00 am, an adult female caught a cab to the 2600 Block of Georgia Avenue, NW. The cab driver had a male friend riding along with him. Once at the location, the male and the victim exited the cab. The suspect engaged the victim in brief conversation then grabbed and pulled her into a nearby alley, where he physically and sexually assaulted her. The victim screamed for help.

Members of the Third District responded to the scene and placed the suspect under arrest.

The suspect is identified as 35-year-old Mohammed Roble Suleiman of Alexandria, Va. He is charged with First Degree Sexual Assault.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
