GBD Announces Pre-Opening Pop Up at Birch & Barley
Featuring Fried Chicken + Doughnuts from Chefs Kyle Bailey & Tiffany MacIsaac

WHAT: Just coming off of Valentine’s Day, the husband and wife culinary duo of Chef Kyle Bailey & Tiffany MacIsaac, will be offering a sneak preview of their forthcoming chicken and doughnut restaurant, GBD (Golden, Brown & Delicious). The temporary outpost will be set up at Birch & Barley on Friday, February 15 and Friday, February 22 at 11 a.m. and offer a limited amount of fried chicken box lunches and fresh gourmet doughnuts to those seeking an advance taste of the upcoming Dupont spot.

The GBD pop-up will be serving the Fried Chicken Lunch Box featuring a drumstick and thigh or four chicken “tendies” along with a seasonal side, crème fraiche biscuit and choice of two house-made sauces (priced at $8 per box). Visitors will also get the chance to sample the fresh gourmet doughnuts from MacIsaac, which will be available in packs of four (priced at $8 a box), and include flavors such as Boozy Butterscotch & Bacon, Snicker’s, Grapefruit-Campari Old-Fashioned, and Apple Fritter. The pop-up items will be available in limited quantities and for take-out only.

WHY: GBD, is slated to open next month at 1322 Connecticut Ave, NW in Washington, D.C. When this destination for fried chicken and doughnuts opens its doors, it will pair the sweet and savory specialties of Chef Kyle Bailey and Pastry Chef Tiffany MacIsaac with an impressive beer program from Greg Engert and a selection of spirited punches. GBD will occupy a small space that will pull triple duty every day of the week. During the day guests will find a bright and cheery spot to grab their doughnuts, MadCap coffee, and fried chicken with homemade sides. In the evening the space will provide a lively, locale for guests to gather around stripped-down fried chicken dinners and partake in the full selection of bar snacks, craft beers and cocktails.
