Arrest Made in the Homicide of Miguel Angel Drullard, Jr.

Follow up to Oct. 7th post Car Used as Weapon in a Homicide at 14th and Webster St, NW from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest was made in the homicide which occurred in the 4400 block of 14th Street, NW.

On Thursday October 6, 2011, at approximately 3:47 pm, units from the Fourth District responded to the 4400 block of 14th Street, NW to investigate the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle that left the scene. Upon their arrival, they located a male lying in the street that was unconscious and unresponsive. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 22 year-old Miguel Angel Drullard, Jr. of Northwest, DC.

On Thursday, October 20, 2011, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 16-year-old Christian Navarette-Rivas of Riverdale, MD pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him as an adult with Second Degree Murder while Armed.”

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
