“Dear PoPville,
On October 28th I went to “We Just Chattin’” at Douglas Hall at Howard University. This is a weekly event where students mingle and discuss a variety of discussion prompts.
We both got there solo and relatively early. I’m a junior girl majoring in history. You have a Keanu Reeves meets Bruno Mars vibe. You’re definitely older than a typical undergraduate. Your jacket made me wonder if they were bringing back the baseball team.
One of the organizers approached you and asked if you go to Howard. You said “No” with such confidence it really made me wonder who you are, why you are here, and how you knew about this. You made him laugh a lot and apparently passed his vibe check. I felt relieved that you weren’t there to Charlie Kirk us.
When the event finally started, the organizer told everyone to stand up and talk to someone you don’t know for five minutes. I was excited when you turned to me to ask what this event was. You thought it was some kind of performance and when I explained what it was you realized you probably shouldn’t be there and left. I thought it was hilarious and adorable.
Maybe you shouldn’t have gone there, but I think you’re fly and fun and would love to see you again. I don’t think it would be weird, because at the end of the day, We Just Chattin’.”
