“D.C.’s First-Ever Dedicated Padel Facility Coming to Bridge District”

From a press release:

“Redbrick LMD and Tennis Central today announced Washington, D.C.’s first dedicated padel facility, Capital City Padel Club (CCPC), opening in the Bridge District in Spring 2027. CCPC will deepen the Bridge District’s growing reputation as a destination for health, wellness, and community while cementing SE D.C. as the city’s hotspot for racquet sports.

“DC has never seen anything quite like this – and that’s exactly the point,” said Louis Dubin, Managing Partner at Redbrick LMD. “Capital City Padel Club is the kind of first-in-D.C. activation that defines what the Bridge District is all about: bringing people together through movement, wellness, and memorable experiences. Tennis Central is exactly the partner we envisioned for this space – their passion for the sport, their ability to welcome players of every age and skill level, and their genuine commitment to community are what will make CCPC special. It’s exactly the kind of programming that makes a neighborhood worth staying in.”

Capital City Padel Club, located at 633 Howard Road SE, will feature three outdoor courts, a globally-inspired food and beverage program, and clinics designed to bring together players of every skill level, as well as families and the broader community. The club will be operated by Yann Auzoux and Olivia Ricchi, the husband-and-wife team behind Tennis Central, a DMV-based racquet sports organization recognized for its international approach to player development, programming, and operations.

CCPC plans to host a series of preview events this fall before officially opening and launching its full schedule in 2027. Those who register on the website in advance will receive early invitations to preview events, opening activations, and exclusive opportunities to be among the first to experience the courts. The launch comes as Washington, D.C. establishes itself as a genuine padel destination: the Pro Padel League has also selected the District for its 2026 season, a further sign that the sport’s momentum is only accelerating.

“Capital City Padel Club is creating a new kind of gathering place in D.C. and continuing what we see as an American racquet sports revival,” said Yann Auzoux, Founder and Chairman of Tennis Central Corp. “What excites us most is introducing this sport to people who have never picked up a padel racquet before – whether you’re eight or eighty, a seasoned athlete or a total beginner, there’s a place for you on our courts. We look forward to hosting leagues, clinics, youth camps, and community events in an environment where people come to play and plan to stay.”

“CCPC is exactly the kind of activation the Bridge District was designed for: vibrant, people-first, and built to turn a neighborhood into a destination,” said Sohael Chowfla, Head of Development at Redbrick LMD. “As the District’s first padel club, it signals the next chapter of what we’re building here: a place where world-class experiences sit alongside D.C.’s most ambitious new development, including the city’s first full-height mass timber building. There is much more to come.”
