Mindfulness & Sketching in the Garden

Join meditation teacher and visual artist Jeneen Piccuirro in The Kreeger Museum Sculpture Garden, where we’ll explore mindfulness, nature, and drawing. Beginning with guided mindfulness practices, participants will be invited to slow down, settle into the present moment, and awaken their senses to the surrounding landscape. We will then turn our attention to the trees, using them as subjects for a series of mindful drawing exercises.

Through close observation, participants will explore line, shape, texture, gesture, light, and shadow, while practicing a more attentive way of seeing. Drawing becomes less about creating a finished image and more about cultivating presence, curiosity, and connection with the natural world.

No previous drawing or meditation experience is required. This experience offers an opportunity to pause, observe deeply, and discover how drawing can become a form of mindfulness.

This workshop is held outdoors. In the case of inclement weather, the workshop will be moved indoors. Please bring a blanket if you would prefer to sketch on the grass.

Parking onsite is extremely limited, The use of rideshare is strongly encouraged.
