1701 H Street, NE entrance on Benning

“The Post Office at 1563 Maryland Avenue NE at the Hechinger Mall has finally closed permanently with the opening today of their replacement location at 1701 H Street NE with its entrance actually along Benning Road NE. They had cookies, balloons everywhere, and a fresh look.
As a PO Box user, we were notified that this was supposed to happen on July 13th, but they ran into delays. It is not too far away and hopefully this means that with one more long-term tenant out, Hechinger Mall is one step closer to redevelopment. Our end of H Street really needs more attention, jobs, and housing of all types.”
