DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID).
WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 21, 2026 – The DC State Fair announces its return on
Sunday, September 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Anthem Row (800 K St NW).
This beloved celebration is free to attend and brings together thousands of Washingtonians for a day
built around the things that make DC's homegrown talent shine: art, agriculture, and the culinary arts.
Modeled on state fairs across the country but with distinct DC flair, the Fair is where neighbors turn
into friendly competitors and where creativity, community pride, and local flavor take center stage.
Bring the whole family for:
● 50+ contests – from pie-eating to the Best Biscuit, plus dedicated youth categories (pre-
registration required, see dcstatefair.org for details)
● Live music on the Main Stage all day long
● A dedicated Kids Zone with games, and activities for younger fairgoers
● A Wellness Zone with roller skating and health-focused organizations
● A Craft Corner with clothing swap, upcycling and crafts
● An Education Stage with demonstrations in art, cooking, and gardening
● 50+ local vendors including fair food
● Crowd-favorite performances, including the always-popular hand dance
Over 17 years, the DC State Fair has grown into one of the city's most anticipated community
