One giant 40,320-piece puzzle. Ten DCPL locations. Three months to complete it. The DC Summer Puzzle Challenge.
Join us for the culmination of the DC Summer Puzzle Challenge! DC Puzzle Swap is partnering with the DC Public Library to continue the build on a donated 40,320 piece puzzle, one of the largest commercially available jigsaw puzzles.
The puzzle, donated by Ravensburger, is composed of 10 Disney scenes and was first activated at Awesome Con 2026. Each Disney scene is 4,000 pieces, almost 5 ft long, and was hosted by a DCPL branch library from June to August 2026 for community puzzling.
On August 29th, 2026, from 2-4pm, we will assemble all 10 scenes into one giant puzzle, over 22 feet long, on the 5th floor of the MLK Library. We will also host a giant Puzzle Swap from 2-4pm. Come swap your jigsaw puzzles with your neighbors and see how far we got in the challenge!

DC Puzzle Swap is a 15 year old community group that offers online space and in person events in DC to swap jigsaw puzzles and find puzzling friends. We do a lot of partnerships and swaps at DCPL locations and love to see branches hosting swaps and using the DC Puzzle Swap sites to promote them.
