Delicious Gyros and other Greek Delicacies Departing Union Market

Sad update from MASTIHA Greek Foods:

“Dearest Customers & Friends,

After much thought and with heavy hearts, we’ve made the difficult decision to close MASTIHA at Union Market.

Our final day of service will be Saturday, August 15.

If you’ve been meaning to stop by, we’d love to see you one last time. Come enjoy your favorite pita wrap, pick up a bottle of Greek extra virgin olive oil, or stock up on a few of the pantry items you’ve come to love.

To our customers, staff, vendors, partners, neighbors, and everyone who has supported us over the years – thank you. You welcomed us into your lives, shared meals with us, celebrated milestones with us, and made MASTIHA so much more than a business. You helped create a community, and for that we will be forever grateful.

We hope you’ll visit us in the coming days to say hello, share one last meal, and help us celebrate everything we’ve built together.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey. 🩵💙

– Katerina + Rob”

“what is mastiha?

MASTIHA takes its name from the ancient resin of the skinos tree, famously grown on the Greek island of Chios. Prized for centuries for its distinctive aroma, culinary uses, and wellness properties, mastiha is deeply rooted in Greek culture and tradition. Naming the business after this special ingredient reflects our passion for sharing authentic Greek flavors, hospitality, and a meaningful connection to heritage through food and community.

United by our shared passion for food, culture + hospitality, Katerina and Rob have embarked on a collaborative journey to bring their vision of a quality focused Greek table to life, sharing Greek culture through food and community.”
