“On Monday, June 8, 2026, at approximately 7:18 p.m., Third District officers responded to the 2500 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male, conscious and breathing, suffering from a gunshot wound. The description of the suspect is a black male, wearing a white tank top, black pants, and a black hat. Anyone with information is urged to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.”

“On June 8, 2026 at approximately 1916 hours, Officers received a radio assignment for a shooting at 2500 Georgia Ave NW at the recreation Center basketball area.
Once on scene, V-1 was observed in distress laying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest area and 1 to his left hip. Officer Selgas immediately stopped SB-1 due to SB-1 matching the lookout of the suspect. W-1 and W-2 reported that prior to V-1 getting shot, S-1 was arguing with a random person at the exact location of the shooting. W-1 and W-2 reported that S-1 left the scene and returned to the location about 10 minutes after. W-1 and W-2 reported that once S-1 returned on scene, S-1 began arguing with V-1 about an unknown topic. W-1 and W-2 reported that mid argument, V-1 began to walk away from the dispute and that was when S-1 pointed a handgun towards V-1’s head. W-1 and W-2 reported that S-1 began shooting at V-1 once V-1 attempted to leave the location. W-1 and W-2 reported that S-1 began fleeing towards Banneker Recreation Center rear parking lot area. W-1 and W-2 reported that when S-1 was casually walking away from the location, S-1 took his black sweatshirt off and stayed with his under white in color tank top.
S-1 was last seen fleeing the location going towards the Parking lot area of Banneker Recreation Center.
V-1 was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.”
