The Comedy Catalyst Course is a hands-on 5-week training program that teaches comedians, advocates, and anyone in between how to use humor as a tool for advocacy and social change. The course is a partnership between Grassroots Comedy, a group that harnesses laughter to spur collective action, and Rising Organizers, a group that trains new and emerging leaders in community organizing.
Participants will meet once-a-week in Adams Morgan and work together to develop original advocacy-focused comedy inspired by real issues and lived experiences. The program culminates in a comedy showcase where each Catalyst will share their message by performing for a live audience. Participants will also receive a professional video of their set.
