16th Street, NW between Q and Corcoran
From MPD:
“On Friday, February 27, 2026, at approximately 12:12 a.m., Third District officers were flagged down near the intersection of 14th Street, NW, and U Street, NW, for the report of a man making threats while brandishing a knife. Officers located the suspect, still brandishing a knife, in the 1600 block of 16th Street, Northwest.
Officers gave commands to the suspect to drop the knife, but the suspect refused. Officers ultimately were able to take the suspect into custody without further incident. No injuries occurred during the incident. MPD requested DC Fire and EMS to respond to the scene to evaluate the suspect, and he was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation. The suspect was charged with Threat to Kidnap or Injure a Person.“
