This is cool: “a brand-new service at the MLK Library: Notary Services”

Nice.

From the DC Public Library:

“We’re thrilled to announce a brand-new service at the MLK Library: the Notary Public Commission! Whether you’re finalizing a Power of Attorney, verifying copies of your ID, or handling real estate paperwork, our notary is here to help with a wide range of eligible documents. Just head to the 2nd floor on the second and third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – no appointment needed!

To make your visit smooth, bring a valid government-issued photo ID and all documents ready for signature. Keep in mind: the notary can’t help you fill out or interpret legal documents and doesn’t provide witnesses, so bring anyone else you need with you. Some items – like birth certificates, divorce decrees, and certain DC agency or federal documents – can’t be notarized, so check the full list of eligible and ineligible items on our website before you come.”
