Has anyone heard why there has been standing water on Piney Branch Road between Beach Drive and 17th (in Rock Creek Park), since the spring or early summer? There are always puddles in some places and the whole stretch is wet.
I’ve emailed RCP (long before the shutdown), to no avail. They did seem to be doing some pipe work in the park a while ago, but that seems to have ended and didn’t fix the problem. It’s only a matter of time til this is a dangerous icy stretch of road if they don’t fix it! (coincidentally, it’s also frequently an ICE-y stretch).”

“This is maybe the least important question ever submitted but it’s been bugging me for a while and I am sure someone knows the answer: Piney Branch Parkway is literally always wet, even in the driest of droughts. Does anyone know why? It seems like something up the hill in Mount Pleasant is leaking a large amount of water and I’m not sure whether it’s supposed to be or not.
