“New Street Name Just Dropped To honor Eastern High School’s band.”

“On my morning walk I saw the city installing new symbolic road signs on A St NE. This has been in the works for at least several months apparently. From the bill:

“Blue & White Marching Machine is Eastern High School’s marching band. The band has marched in NFL halftime shows, presidential inaugural parades, and the opening ceremony for the FIFA World Cup. During practices, the band typically marches along A Street, N.E., from Eastern High School, located at 1700 East Capitol Street, N.E., to Lincoln Park. The bill symbolically designates A Street, N.E. between North Carolina Avenue, N.E. and 17th Street, N.E. as Blue & White Marching Machine Way.”
