Adams Morgan Spring PorchFest Returns on Saturday, May 4 with 80+ Bands

Adams Morgan Spring PorchFest will take place on Saturday, May 4 from 2-6 p.m.!

This event will showcase some of D.C.’s best local musical talent featuring nearly every musical genre, including classic rock, funk, Go Go, rap, reggae, blue grass, classical, and pop. Twenty-two porches, business patios, parks, and the closed 18th Street will become stages for the day, drawing music-lovers from around the region into the tree-lined streets and small businesses of Adams Morgan. 18th Street NW (between Columbia and Kalorama Roads NW) will be closed to vehicular traffic creating additional safe space for performances.

Event patrons can pick up a music map and FREE wristband at three different event headquarter locations. Limited edition Spring PorchFest t-shirts will be available for purchase on a first come first serve basis at Smash! Records, Adams Morgan Ace Hardware, Urban Dwell, and Because Science the week leading up to and during the event!

Each PorchFest location will host up to four 45-minute sets, all of which are free and open for all to enjoy. Due to overwhelming success over the last few years, we are excited to announce that we will have THREE main stages this year — the Plaza Main Stage (in front of Truist Bank at the corner of Columbia and Adams Mill Roads NW), the Aetna Main Stage (at 2424 18th Street within the 18th Street closure), and the Marie Reed Stage (in Marie Reed Elementary School’s Plaza located in front of the Recreation Center at the corner of 18th and Wyoming Street).

Main stage headliners include the iconic DC Go Go band, Chuck Brown Band, The Experience Band & Show, Flex Matthews Band, Gotcha Covered, Bryan Lee, Max Rosado and The 7th St Band, Gracie Jay, and more!

New to Adams Morgan PorchFest this year is a VIP Experience at Le Mont Royal! Attendees can purchase VIP tickets in advance for exclusive access to Le Mont Royal’s patio, right next to the Plaza Stage! VIP’s age 21+ will have access to unlimited food, unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, PorchFest swag bags, access to event restrooms, reserved VIP standing room near each main stage, and more! We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
