Pulling inspiration from the infamous Katharine Hepburn quote muraled to the wall, “If you obey all the rules, you’ll miss all the fun”, Makers Union Cathedral Heights is doing just that. Always designed with the surrounding community in mind, this new location presents a refined and radiant interior complete with a vibrant pink pinstripe ceiling, large 21 seat bar, lush hanging greenery, rich leather banquettes, botanical design accents, unique tilework and a 50-seat pet-friendly terrace. This location will take advantage of an existing custom brick oven holding center stage behind the chef’s counter.

“You will notice we broke the mold with this bold and energetic Makers Union build out,” said Alex Berentzen, COO of Thompson Restaurants. “At Makers Union, we are all about community and fostering an inclusive atmosphere. The beauty of the Cathedral Heights neighborhood is undeniably alive within our walls and we eagerly anticipate sharing all we have to offer with locals and visitors to the area.”

The menu at Makers Union Cathedral is an elevated blend of tradition and flare. Executive Chef Dan Logan curated a brilliant menu featuring handmade pastas, savory dinner entrees and a lunch menu for those on-the-go or others looking for leisure. A few standouts include a Black N’ White Clam Linguini, Grilled Branzino and Southern Surf N’ Turf which includes blackened filet, butter poached Maine lobster, and corn succotash. This location will also highlight a chef-driven brick oven menu featuring a variety of Oven-Fired Oysters, Baked Brie, Flatbreads and French Onion Soup. On the weekend brunch takes center stage, boasting a Family-Style Menu that showcases culinary delights such as Maryland Crab Cake Benedict, Warren’s Fine Fried Chicken & Waffles, and bottomless Mimosas.

Furthermore, Makers Union takes pride in its curated beverage menu, offering their very own Makers Light Lager, Makers IPA, and private select barrels with Makers Mark and Buffalo Trace. Signature cocktails include a Blood Orange Mule, Yuzu Lemondrop Martini and Makers Maple Old Fashioned.

Makers Union is a place to celebrate all of life’s occasions, whether that’s watching a game with a cold beer at the bar, dinner with your family, date night, happy hour with colleagues, or bottomless brunch with friends.”

Finding a gift for moms can be difficult. Google “Mother’s Day gifts,” and you’ll scroll through endless lists of beauty products, candles and fuzzy robes. Sure, those are sweet, but sometimes it’s fun to surprise loved ones with something a little more, well, practical!

Here’s one idea: Give her a gift certificate for a home cleaning from Well-Paid Maids. It’s the perfect “thank you,” “I love you” or “you’ve got this” for any mom. She can schedule the home cleaning at her convenience and breathe easy knowing she has one less thing to do.

Our cleaners will take care of everything, including vacuuming and mopping as well as cleaning and dusting countertops, tables, mirrors, appliances and more. Sinks, toilets, showers and appliance exteriors also get a good scrub.
