Today’s Rental was chosen because it’s a nice group house option and the backyard, obviously

This rental is located in Brookland. The Craigslist ad says:

“$1,250 / 1br – Spacious Room + Den in Beautifully Renovated 4-Bedroom House (Brookland)

We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our household in a beautifully renovated house in Brookland, DC. We are offering a spacious 1 bedroom + den in our 4-bedroom home, available starting September 1st!

About the Space:
Our house has undergone a complete renovation and offers a spacious and comfortable living environment. The bedroom available is large enough to comfortably fit a queen bed with a dresser and features a substantial closet. The common areas are fully furnished and include a charming wood-burning fireplace, original hardwood floors, and a completely updated kitchen with new appliances. Additionally, we have a finished basement with a washer and dryer. The backyard is huge and perfect for barbecues and gatherings around the fire pit. Dedicated off-street parking is available, and there’s ample street parking in front of the house.

About the Housemates:
We are a group of young professionals who are easy to get along with. We have had great experiences with previous roommates, and we’re looking for someone who is also friendly, laid-back, respectful, and tidy.

About the Location:
The house is conveniently located within a 10-minute walk from the Brookland-CUA Metro station (red line), making it easy to explore the city. Nestled on a picturesque tree-lined residential street in Brookland, you’ll feel the tranquility of the suburbs while still being in the heart of the city. You’ll find an array of fantastic restaurants and vibrant nightlife on 12th Street, with popular spots like Primrose. Monroe Market, Catholic University, Yes Organic Market, and CVS are all within walking distance.

Rent Details:
We are asking $1250 for the 1 bedroom + den, and utilities are a flat $100 extra. We prefer a one-year lease, but we’re open to considering shorter leases depending on the situation.”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
