Breaking from my usual work commute habit, I went to Krispy Kreme to pick up some doughnuts and then caught the red line into work. She ran to get on the same metro car as me and sat right across from me. After finally getting up the courage to ask her if she was going to or from work, my stop arrived.
And I decided to continue into work versus staying and chatting with her a bit longer. She was a medical professional (doctor or nurse) with a great smile and relaxed personality. I really wanted to ask her if she went to the local university that she was wearing a T-shirt of.
Maybe lightning can strike twice and this time I make sure to get your name and number. Here’s to hoping for a second chance meeting.
