“Dear PoPville,

On Wednesday I was out on the patio of Dew Drop with a couple of friends and we accidentally stole the table from you (you were smoking and chatting with someone nearby). You were a handsome man named “Dusty” and I got our names confused because they sound similar. We had overlapping conversation a few times; I was planning on giving you my number, but you left by the time I returned to the patio.

If you’re keen on getting a drink on a patio somewhere else, message me with my name!

Best,
Your redheaded admirer”

And Quebec House South gym Wednesday night:

“He had longish brown hair and was wearing a baseball cap and long black socks. I have curly brown hair and was wearing an orange sports bra and spandex. We were working out in the same area for a while and he wished me a good night. I was going to ask you out but didn’t want to interrupt your phone call!”

And:

“Dear PoPville,

Figured I’d try shooting my shot! I met a guy near Kalorama park today (Wed.) while we were both walking our dogs. We bonded over Penn State and introduced ourselves but we walked away before exchanging information and I’d love to get to know him more!”

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made.

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
