“Dear PoPville,

I ran into a girl at Whole Foods by King St Metro Thursday of last week. We talked about how we could not decide on what to eat. A lady interrupted us and asked me to grab something for her off the top shelf and we both walked away after that. I was with a coworker (She would know that).”

and

“You came alone to the Thursday (5/4/23) night Capital Laughs comedy show at Town Tavern.

You sat behind me and asked politely if you were blocking my view, which I thought was both sweet and hilarious. I turned around and cracked a joke about this to you right before the show started, and we both laughed.

You were wearing a navy blue sweater, glasses and a flat cap. I was wearing a white fur coat with black hearts on it and a denim shirt.

Would be fun to check out another comedy show with you sometime!”

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. The overall man from Petworth Porchfest MC was made!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
