The patio is open and the flamenco dancers are thrilling at the Alabardero!
Washington’s La Taberna del Alabardero adds to its many reasons to visit — in addition to the authentic Spanish meals it has been serving District residents and visitors since 1989 — spirited evenings of live flamenco dancing.
Talented flamenco dancers accompanied by musicians bring the passion and expressive movements of traditional flamenco on select Fridays and Saturdays from 8-10 p.m. (It is recommended to call ahead).
Performances will spill out onto the patio — weather permitting, but please note that the patio is now available for al fresco dining with the best of authentic Spanish and Mediterranean cuisines and an extensive wine list. Also for happy hour.
As for flamenco dancing — which often depicts passionate tales of love and loss — the dancing fits the restaurant’s authentic Spanish menu as easily as tapas.
