Missed Connection – Proper 21

“Dear PoPville,

Last Thursday (3/23) I went to Proper 21 for happy hour with two coworkers. As we were walking by the patio to the entrance, I made eye contact that seemed to linger a couple beats longer than the norm with a guy who was already drinking in the patio area with some others. He was wearing a suit and looked kinda like the Crown Prince of Jordan.

My coworkers and I wound up being seated a couple tables down on the patio. When the guy went to leave, we again made really long eye contact – like of the “hm I find you interesting/intriguing” variety – as he walked toward and past my table, and I very nearly called him over but then chickened out :(

He had brown hair and (very nice) facial hair. I was the brunette (straight, shoulder-length hair with a middle part) in a black midi tank dress seated with two dudes. If he’s single, I’d love to meet up for a drink/coffee!”

Ed. Note: If this is you, please email [email protected] so I can put you in touch with OP. PoPville is not affiliated with either party, please proceed with any potential connection at your own risk using caution as you would any online encounter. For those curious about past missed connections, many have been made and when possible I’ll try to update when/if more are made. Monday’s Trader Joe’s MC was connected!

Potomac Harmony is Back! Following a gap year of competing, then virtual rehearsals during the pandemic, followed by the well-earned retirement of our long-term director, a year of a director search, Potomac Harmony hit the regional contest stage in Concord, North Carolina in March for the first time since 2018! It was exhilarating, reaffirming, and rewarding!

The chorus hit all of its goals, the biggest of which was to have fun and sing our best on contest stage — we did both! Because we earned a score over 400 points, our new Director, Allison Lynskey, was awarded the Novice Director award, photo above. Additionally, one of our charter members, Jackie Bottash, was nominated for and honored with the Leadership Excellence award. It was a celebratory weekend!

What’s next? So much! We now look forward to upcoming performances, growing our membership, and expanding our musical product with new arrangements and an education component each week. It’s an exciting time to be part of this ever-growing ensemble!
