“we want to share our “why” for this move”

Thanks to E. for passing on from Washington Sports Club:

“Hey DC,

As you may already know, we’re bringing all of our Sports Clubs together under one brand, New York Sports Club, and we want to share our “why” for this move.

The original NYSC name honors our NYC roots and founding, and supporting a single brand allows us to invest more of our resources in improving your member experience. We are committed to putting the NEW back in New York Sports Club across all of our markets, especially as we celebrate our 50th anniversary later this year!

Many of you have remained loyal through what is safe to say a challenging past couple of years. We want to thank you and let you know that we are committed to earning your trust and membership. Our Clubs have new ownership + leadership, and we are listening and making improvements across your clubs, including reopening a former location with a grand makeover and fully decked out in our NEW New York Sports Club branding; plus, we’re launching the first DC location of our preeminent boutique fitness brand, Fhitting Room, later this spring.

With this move, we plan to regularly highlight the best of DC under the NYSC name. We will continue to work to fulfill our mission of improving lives through fitness. In the coming months, you will start seeing improvements in many of our DC Clubs with some updates already on their way. Your local DC team will remain the same.

We thank you for being part of our DC community and look forward to being stronger together and changing for the better.

-Your Sports Club Team”

We’re about a month out from summer. That means you’ve still got time for spring cleaning!

Lexi Grant, an operations manager at Well-Paid Maids, shared her go-to spring cleaning tips with WTOP News. Step one? Declutter. Get rid of items you don’t use, find space for items that need a home and organize those areas.

Then, it’s time to dust. Lexi starts with high-touch surface areas (think: refrigerator, dishwasher, counters, microwave). One area she sees often neglected is the bedroom — and it makes sense. Heavy furniture is difficult to move around, but it’s important to really get in there so dust doesn’t affect your sleep.
