From a press release:
“On Saturday, March 25th, Roofers Union will close the doors (after service) to its longstanding wine haven, Jug & Table.
According to General Manager, David Delaplaine:
“It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Jug & Table. In many ways our last connection to our closed sister restaurant of the 2010s Ripple, Jug & Table has been our stalwart companion through Covid and much more. We opened J&T in 2015 as an opportunity to bring good wine and good vinyl in a casual & cozy atmosphere.
We’ve had a wonderful 8+ years, featuring a fantastic rotation at the helm. A special thanks to Theo, Megan, Annika, Devon, Ezra, Chas, and of course Brian and Pete. The intimacy of Jug allowed us to connect with our community in a truly special way that we do not take for granted. To all of our treasured guests, we thank you for your support all these years, especially in the last three, through the pandemic that challenged so many in our community. We hope you’ll be patient with us as we transition the space to our next unique introduction to Adams Morgan.
We’ve been hard at work developing what is next for the space. We are very excited to announce The Agave Room at Roofers Union. We will use our intimate street level space to focus on agave spirits and culture. Just as Roofers Union allows us to geek out on beer, The Agave Room is designed to celebrate and journey deep into the tastes and stories behind mezcals and tequilas.
We’ll be closing Jug & Table’s doors after service on Saturday, March 25th, so please join us before then to see some friendly faces.”
The Agave Room at Roofers Union plans to open in early April with a curated selection of agave spirits – stay tuned!”
